Stampin' Up Wonderful Winterland December 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit Treat Holder - Happy Thanksgiving

Hmmmm...Our weatherman did not get it right, again!  Most of the precipitation was supposed to be rain and mostly through the wee hours of the morning.  Well, we have about an inch or so of SNOW!  Ewwwww.....

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  I'm thankful for family and friends!  I'm thankful to be able to work with Stampin' Up products as a Demonstrator and to be able to design and display my work with all of you.  I'm thankful for all of you who visit my blog and leave me such kind comments.  You don't always get the chance to be able to do what you love in life!  I'm so fortunate and thankful!!!

My share for today is a little treat holder made from the Base Card in Stampin' Up's Wonderful Winterland December 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit (or, you can make your own Base Card if you don't have the Wonderful Winterland Kit).  Let's take a look:

Stampin' Up showed this little treat holder on their blog yesterday.  Isn't it cute!  You can use a Card Base from the Wonderful Winterland Kit (or make your own) to create a matchbox-style holder and then just slip in a peppermint patty.  Yet another idea that you can make with the contents of this kit if you decide to make something different than traditional cards.  It’s the perfect little treat for a friend or loved one.

The Base Card in the kit is 4-1/4" x 6".   I cut the Base Card in half so that I had 2 Base Cards and each measure 2-1/8" x 6".  So, if you don't have the kit, you can trim out your own Card Base from your own cardstock.

Next, I scored the Base Card at  2-1/2",  3"  and  5-1/2". (The 3" is already pre-scored as its natural fold if you used the Base Card from the Kit).

Then all you do is fold it up into a matchbook style holder.

Adorable!!!

The picture above shows a side shot of the Treat Holder.  I used the Whisper White and Metallic Silver Baker's Twine in the kit to tie around the top and into a bow to hold the Treat Holder closed.

I trimmed down the Laser Cut Die Cuts in the kit to 2" as shown in the picture above.  The first die cut is adhered with Mono Multi Purpose Glue, the second is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals and the Banner is adhered with both Stampin' Dimensionals and Glue Dots.

I trimmed out a banner from Pool Party Cardstock at 3/4" x 1-1/2".  Using the Marker to Stamp Technique, I colored the Happy Holidays with my Dapper Denim Stampin Write Marker and the Pine Bough with Pear Pizzazz.  I then 'huffed' on the stamp to rejuvenate the ink and stamped it on the banner.

The pictures below show the Cards that I made per the instructions of the kit.

I used the Merry Christmas Sentiment from the Wonderful Winterland Stamp Set that is included in the Kit on the Card pictured above.

I used the Happy Holidays Sentiment from the Wonderful Winterland Stamp Set that is included in the Kit on the Card pictured above.  I just LOVE the font they used on the Sentiments!
