Smitten Mittens, Many Mittens, Cable Knit - Christmas Card

We have some light scattered snow showers throughout the day today with no significant accumulation.  I'm not so sure of that as it is snowing like crazy right now!  We are to expect 1" to 3" of snow this weekend and maybe more the closer we live to Lake Huron.  Yikes!

My share for today is a Christmas Card.  Let's take a look:

I just can't get enough of these Mittens.  I'm Smitten for Mittens!!!  😊😊😊

My Card Base is Pool Party Cardstock cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored and folded at 5-1/2" for a top folding Card.

I ran the front of my Card Base through my BIG Shot using SU's Cable Knit Embossing Folder.  I spritzed the inside of the embossing folder with water before running it through the BIG Shot and this embossing folder gives a deeper impression in the Cardstock.

Using SU's Many Mittens Framelits Dies, I die cut the Solid Mitten twice from Whisper White Cardstock and the Detailed Mitten twice from Real Red Cardstock.  I adhered the two Mittens together with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above.

*Tip - If you let a dab of the Mono Multi Purpose Glue set up (dry) a bit, it is easier to hold down the Tinsel Trim.

I die cut the Mitten Cuff three times (one for the inside of my card) from Garden Green Cardstock and ran it through my BIG Shot with the Cuff Embossing die.  I adhered the Cuff's to the Mittens with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

I adhered a length of SU's Silver Tinsel Trim to the end of each Mitten with Mono Multi Purpose Glue and a piece of tape.  I then adhered the Mittens to my Card Base with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I looped the extra Tinsel around as shown in the picture above and adhered it with small dabs of Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

Using SU's Smitten Mitten Stamp Set, I stamped my Greeting in Real Read Ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock and trimmed it out to measure 7/8" x 1-5/8".

I trimmed out a piece of Garden Green Cardstock to measure 1-1/8" x 1-7/8".  I adhered the Greeting to the Garden Green piece with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above.

I tied a scrap piece of the Silver Tinsel Trim into a knot and adhered it above the Greeting as shown in the picture above with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

For the inside of my Card:

Using SU's Smitten Mitten Stamp Set, I stamped the outline of the Mitten onto Whisper White Cardstock with Garden Green Ink.

I stamped my Sentiment in the middle of the Mitten with Real Red Ink.

I die cut out the Mitten, adhered the Garden Green Cuff and adhered the Mitten to the inside of my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

Such a fun stamp set and coordinating dies!  I have a Smitten Mitten addiction!!!  😊😊😊

Stamparatus

The Stamparatus is a new product from Stampin' Up!  I was one of the unfortunate ones to miss the first reservation window.  I love this new product and my FAVE feature of the Stamparatus is the double doors!

Change in Stamparatus Reservation Windows

The results are in! The first Stamparatus reservation window reached its maximum number of reservations in just 15 minutes, which provided us with some very important information: You LOVE this new stamping tool! We couldn’t be more thrilled; in fact, your response was so amazing that we’ve decided to make some important adjustments to the reservation process.
As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period we will take as many orders as we receive (yay!) and not close the window until December 30. So whether the total number of reservations is 100 or 100,000, the window will stay open!
Please note the following changes:
  • Beginning March 19, we will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Because shipment dates are based on manufacturing lead times, not all of the reservations made during the December 5–30 window will ship on March 19 (as was previously announced).
  • In order to accommodate demand, limits have changed as follows: one reservation per customer and one per demonstrator.
  • Because we are not limiting the maximum number of reservations for the second window, we will not offer a third window. This is the last chance for you and your customers to reserve a Stamparatus before it becomes available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog.
Please note what has not changed:
  • If you reserved more than one stamping tool during the first reservation period, that number will not change; you will still receive the same number you reserved.
  • If you reserved one or more stamping tool(s) during the first reservation period, you may still order during the second window.
  • The reservation window will open at 2:00 PM (MT) on December 5.
We can’t wait for you to get your hands on your very own Stamparatus and look forward to seeing the projects you’ll make with this incredible stamping tool. Look for additional details on the Stamparatus product page as the second reservation window approaches.

PLEASE GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!

I recently discovered that people are using my cards and/or projects, duplicating them and entering them into challenges, using them for their own card classes and (using them on their blogs as their own creations) - Please give credit where credit is due.  My cards and projects are my own creations and are not to be used in challenges, blog hops, card classes or sold at craft shows; etc., for profit.  I don't mind if you duplicate my creativity to pass on to family members or friends as gifts or Occasions cards; but,  PLEASE be considerate of others creativity!  Thank you!

  1. DARLING DARLING card Lynn. The silver tinsel trim connecting the mittens is too cute for words.....but the icing on this card is that same tinsel trim looped over your sentiment. AWESOME!!!!!
