Stampin' Up Square Pillow Box Tag Ornament Holder

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm so far behind this year with getting everything done for Christmas!  I did get all my packages mailed earlier this week and hope to start on my Christmas cards this weekend.

Today I have another Tag/Ornament Holder that I made from Stampin' Up's Square Pillow Box Thinlits Die.  I'm so disappointed though as it is on the SU retired list.  Boo Hoo!

On to my project:

I LOVE the non-traditional Red, White and Blue Christmas color and they are sure becoming more popular now-a-days!  I think they look amazing against Stampin' Up's Old Olive Cardstock.

I die cut 2 of SU's Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies.  Before assembling, I altered the box by cutting 1" off of the top of each piece and then assembled all as normal.

I punched 2 snowflakes, one from SU's Night of Navy and one from SU's Real Red Cardstock, using SU's Snow Furry Punch.  I die cut 3 snowflakes, 2 from SU's Gold Foil Paper and 1 from SU's Silver Foil Paper.  I layered 3 snowflakes, as shown in the above picture, together and on to the top portion of the pillow box with SU Stampin' Dimnensionals.  I added a SU Old Olive Candy Dot to the center.

Using SU's Expressions Thinlits Dies, I die cut 2 sentiments, one from SU Night of Navy Cardstock and one from SU's Whisper White Cardstock, and adhered them together using SU's Fine Tip Glue Bottle.  I cut tiny pieces of SU's Stampin' Dimensionals and adhered it to the belly band for some height.

Then, I tied two of the snowflakes to the y in Merry with SU's Gold Metallic Thread.

When I was at Convention in July this year, SU showed us a different way to close the bottom of the pillow box by criss crossing the bottom flaps.  This actually made the box much sturdier and less likely to open up.

I made 4 more Home for Christmas Doily Tags/Ornaments like I showed previously on my blog to the inside of the pillow box.  This time I used SU's Nigh of Navy cardstock for the ornaments behind the poinsettias.

I really enjoy making these projects and giving them to friends and family who visit for Christmas!  I always keep some on hand for the unexpected visitor also.  They sure make perfect little gifts!

Just a reminder, the last day to order from the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog is January 4, 2016.  The clearance rack has been updated with new items and the retiring list is available, all with deep discounts.
