Share What You Love Lip Balm Project

We sure got a lot of much needed rain in the wee hours of the morning.  It's still muggy and cloudy outside; but, it's supposed to clear up this afternoon.

My share for today is a Lip Balm Box project.  Let's take a look:

When my Niece, Amy, visited us last July, we were going to work on a Lip Balm Box; but, we ran out of time.  I ended up in the hospital the following Monday after Amy and the Kids left so I don't remember where I got the instructions from to make the Box.  There are many video's out there on how to make these Boxes in all different shapes and sizes.  I will try to give you the gist of it though as Amy made some when she got home and she so generously wrote up and shared some directions for me!

I made a Belly Band from Stampin' Up's 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon.

I used the new Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper for the Box.

For the Lip Balm Box:

I chose the Multi Color Dots pattern from SU's Share What You Love Specialty DSP and cut it to measure 6-1/2" x 11".

On the 6-1/2" side, score at 2" and 4-1/2".

On the 11" side, score at 2", 4", 6", 8", 8-1/2", and 10-1/2".

Fold your DSP at all score lines.  Remove the two corner sections from the 8" score line to the 11" end of your DSP on both sides.  Snip up the 2", 4" and 6" score lines on each side of your DSP to create the side flaps for the Box.

I used SU's 1-3/4" Circle Punch to create a hole for the Lip Balm to sit in in-between the 8-1/2" and 10-1/2" score lines and centered in that section of the box.

I used SU's 3/4" Circle Punch to create a thumb hole opening at the other end of the box.  This makes it easier to open the box up.

Fold up your box and adhere all the flaps with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.  I used SU's Tear & Tape Adhesive on the Base Flap that the Lip Balm sits in with the punched 1-3/4" circle hole in it.

Now, Amy used Cardstock or Designer Series Paper to adhere to the top and sides of her Lip Balm Boxes.  She cut the top CS or DSP at 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" and the sides at 1-3/4" x 1-3/4".  I did not use the CS or DSP on my Lip Balm Box.  I wanted this gorgeous, colorful DSP to show all the way around.

For the Belly Band:

I cut a length of SU's 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon, wrapped it around the Box and adhered it together at the top with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

Using SU's 1-3/4" Circle Punch, I punched a Circle from SU's Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.

Using SU's 3/4" Circle Punch, I punched a Circle from the Rich Razzleberry Lined pattern from SU's Share What You Love Specialty DSP.

I adhered the two Circles together with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Using SU's Leaf Punch, I punched 2 Leaf Stems from Old Olive Cardstock and adhered them in-between the 2 Circles with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

I cut 2 lengths of SU's new 5/8" Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and one length of the Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon.  I tied the Velvet Ribbon around both pieces of the Tulle Ribbon with a single knot.  I adhered the Ribbons the 3/4" DSP Circle on my Belly Band with 5 or 6 SU Glue Dots.

I adhered the Circles with the Ribbons onto the Velvet Ribbon on the box by adhering 5 or 6 more Glue Dots in a line along the Velvet Ribbon.

These Lip Balm boxes make great gifts for any occasion.  I know that I'll be making some more of them.  😊😊😊

Wishing you all a warm and sunny day!!!

Blessings!

Lynn

In order to keep bringing you the most current and on trend colors, Stampin' Up! decided it was time to give their color collections a makeover.

With this revamp, you’ll not only have new products, but also have a new variety of shades that will inspire creativity and allow you to explore more sides of your crafting.

There are still four color collections, each with ten colors. There is also a new color group called Basics.
.
In order to keep their color collections to exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors, they moved Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White out of the Neutrals collection and also moved a few colors into the Neutrals collection, making it more exciting and colorful!

Some additional colors have changed collections as well—you’ll notice this as you look through the new collections in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  These changes were based on needing to maintain color balance in our updated collections.

In addition to new colors, they also redesigned their ink pads. The case is a new, more intuitive design and they’ve improved the formula of the ink, as well! We think you will love these changes.

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I was able to order the new In-Color Ink Pads and I just LOVE the new design.  Stampin' Up! never ceases to amaze me!

PLEASE GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!

I recently discovered that people are using my cards and/or projects, duplicating them and entering them into challenges, using them for their own card classes and (using them on their blogs as their own creations) - Please give credit where credit is due.  My cards and projects are my own creations and are not to be used in challenges, blog hops, card classes or sold at craft shows; etc., for profit.  I don't mind if you duplicate my creativity to pass on to family members or friends as gifts or Occasions cards; but,  PLEASE be considerate of others creativity!  Thank you!
