Stampin' Up! May Good Things Grow March 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Alternate Gift Card/Candy/Seed Holder Project - I Instructions

It's a gorgeous day outside today with a high temperature in the low 50's.  Truly a nice and sunny Spring day!

I'm feeling much better today; but, still have a ways to go.  The stitches are driving me crazy!

My share for today is an update on the Alternate Gift Card/Candy/Seed Holder Project that I made using Stampin' Up's March 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit called May Good Things Grow.  And, I'll try and send out another blog post today on a new 3D project that I made.  Let's take a look at how I made Fridays project:

Pictured above are the Gift Card/Candy/Seed Holder projects that I shared on my blog last Friday.  So, today post will be a re-cap of Fridays project.  I put the instructions to make these holders farther down in my post.

I LOVE how these Holders turned out and they are perfect for Easter or Mother's Day Gifts.

Here's a picture of the front of the first Holder that I made.

And, the back of the Holder.

Pictured above is the front of the second Holder that I made.

And, the back of the second Holder.

I placed a Ghirardelli Chocolate Square in this one.

For this one, I folded a pack of Marigold Seeds in half and placed them inside the Holder.

And, of course, this one holds a Gift Card.

Now, for the instructions:
Using my Stampin' Trimmer, I trimmed off about an 1/8" from both long sides of the Envelope from the May Good Things Grow Paper Pumpkin Kit.

I trimmed off the bottom piece at the Envelopes natural Flap as shown in the picture above.

I set the bottom Crumb Cake piece aside for another project at a future time.

I trimmed the remaining piece in half making sure that the bottom portion was about an 1/8" shorter than the top piece so the Scalloped Flap would fold down nicely.

Using my SU 1-3/8" Circle Punch, I punched a half Circle centered in the top of the front piece as shown in the picture above.

I adhered 1/8" adhesive tape to the back of the front piece, close to the side and bottom edges, and underneath the Crumb Cake Flap as shown in the picture above.

Tip:  If you don't have 1/8" adhesive tape, you can cut 1/4" tape in half lengthwise.

I removed the backing from the adhesive tape and adhered the front piece to the back piece as shown in the picture above.

You can use the technique shown in the instructions in the Kit to make your closure for your Holder.  Or, you can use the small Velcro Closures that I used.  I purchased them at one of our BIG Box Stores.

Tip:  I put one portion of the Velcro Closure over the hole in the Scalloped Flap and then I put the other portion of the Velcro Closure over the top of the first Velcro Closure.  Insert your Gift and then fold your Scalloped Flap down evenly so your Velcro will adhere to the bottom portion of your holder perfectly positioned.  No guess work or measuring involved on where to put the second portion of your Velcro Closure.  😊😊😊

The last thing to do was to embellish the Holders using the Kit's Ribbon, Die Cuts and Pearls.

I just LOVE how these turned out and they are so quick, easy and fun to make!  Perfect for Spring, Mother's Day, Easter, Anniversary, Birthday; etc.
