Stampin' Up 2016 Occasions Catalog You're So Lovely Project Kit I

Well.....I started the Stampin' Up You're So Lovely Project kit and then didn't feel very well so I took a rest on the couch.  That evening, we decided to grill outside and my Husband ended up getting a greasy/oily print on the first and only card that I had got done from the kit.  So, I started on a couple other cards with the greasy/oily card sitting upright beside me.  I kept looking at it and started thinking how I could fix it and then I thought; just cut it up and make a gift card holder out of it.  And, that's just what I did.

There's always a way to fix an oopsy!  If it had been in the right spot, I would have covered it with a flower or a butterfly or something.  But, no such luck!

So, I will be showing you SU's You're So Lovely Project Kit kind of in reverse.  Normally, I make a few of the cards and/or projects how the instructions state and put them on my blog and then I go off on my own afterwards and make my own creations.  So, we will be starting with one of my own creations first.  Here's what I came up with after dissecting the greasy/oily card:

Pictured above is the gift card holder that I came up with.  Love SU's Watermelon Wonder Ink.  So pretty!!!

Here's the gift bag emptied of its contents and the belly band removed.  I took the stencil that comes in the kit and used SU's Watermelon Wonder ink to stencil the gift bag.  After it dried, I cut about 1/4" off the bottom of the bag and folded the bag at the 3" mark from the top of the bag.

By folding the gift bag and with the use of the belly band, you get 3 pockets to put goodies in for your gift.

In the first pocket (the top of the gift bag), I put a gift card.  In the second pocket (In-Between the top of the gift bag and the bottom of the gift bag, I put a Ghiradelli Candy that I embellished.  In the third pocket (the bottom of the gift bag), I put the card.

Pictured above is the card I made for the Third Pocket.  There are more balloons on the back and I already signed it.

For the Belly Band; After I sponged the butterfly on my card and it got ruined, I used my SU Bold Butterfly Framelits Die and die cut out the butterfly.  I cut a 1" wide piece of SU Watermelon Wonder Card Stock for the belly band and a 3/4" wide piece of the ruined card front.  I adhered the card piece to the belly band and my butterfly to the card piece all with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Then, I gently folded it around the gift bag and adhered it in the back with SU's Fast Fuse.

For the Card; I took a piece  of SU Watermelon Wonder and partial die cut it using the largest SU Deco Label Framelit for my card base.  Then, I trimmed down the negative butterfly piece from the ruined card and adhered it to my card base.

For the Ghiradelli Candy Holder; I cut a piece of SU Watermelon Wonder at 7 1/2" x 1 1/2".  I punched both ends with the SU Triple Banner Punch.  Using SU's Balloon Celebration Stamp Set, I stamped a balloon, the string and Happy Birthday on the holder using SU's Watermelon Wonder ink.  I used SU's 1/8" Handheld Hole Punch and punch two holes just above where the candy goes.  Then I took some SU 1" Dotted Lace Trim, threaded it through the holes and tied it in a double know.

All in all, I'm happy again and ready to move on to the rest of the cards in the kit which I will hopefully show you tomorrow.  I think it turned out adorable!!!  An afterthought would have been to add some of SU's Gold Metallic Thread.  That would have really glammed it up more.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Hope you enjoyed it!!!
