Sweet Storybook, Storybook Scene - Tri-fold Mice Card

Happy 4th of July week!  I hope everyone is having a fun and safe weekend.

Our high temperature is going to be in the low 90's again today with way too much humidity building up again.  We are to expect pop up showers and storms throughout the day and evening.

Even the poor critters are having a hard time with all this heat and humidity.  This poor
heat exhausted Rabbit isn't doing much Rabbit Crossing today.

The heat exhausted Rabbit is laid out like a weeks wash!  The squirrel though is still eating up all my bird seed.

My share for today is the Sweet Storybook Scene Tri-Fold Mice Card pictured on page 160 in Stampin' Up's new 2018-19 Annual Catalog.  Let's take a look:

Isn't this Tri-Fold Mice Card just too stinkin' cute!!!  Kudo's to the Stampin' Up Designer and Sizzix for some Awesome, Awesome dies!!!  (I apologize for the marks in my Card Base as I should have put new cutting pads in my BIG Shot before I die cut the Hole.)

My Niece, Amy, and I put this Card together when she was here to visit.  I also taught Amy how to color with Stampin' Up's Stampin' Blends.  Amy caught on in a heart beat and her coloring was just amazing by the time we were done with the card.

All we did was trim off about an 1/8" from a second Card Base and then adhered the 2 Card Bases together with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.  (You need to make sure that the Front on the first Card Base aligns with the Back of the second Card Base on the right side.)

Using Stampin' Up's new Storybook Scene Thinlits Dies, we die cut the hole in the Front.

We traced the Hole in the Front onto the Back (the next Card Base with the Card Bases folded up as a natural Tri-Fold Card) and then die cut the next hole.

The picture above shows the second die cut hole.

Using SU's new Sweet Storybook Stamp Set, we stamped our Leaves in Mossy Meadow Ink and the 3 Flowers in Lovely Lipstick Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  We adhered them to the Front with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above.

We stamped our Mice in Black Memento Ink, colored them with Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Light and Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends and die cut them out.

We colored our Grass in Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends and adhered the Mice die cut with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

We stamped the Mushroom Cap in Lovely Lipstick Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock, colored the Spots on the Mushrooms' Cap with Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend and fussy cut it out.

We stamped the Mushroom in Black Memento Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock and colored it with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.

We adhered the Cap onto the Mushroom with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

We colored the Grass with Light and Dark Old Olive and the Sky with Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends.

Using SU's Stampin' Trimmer, we trimmed the Mushroom out to measure 2-1/2" x 3-7/8".

We used a pencil to mark where our Mushroom should sit so it showed through the Hole's for proper placement and adhered it to the Center with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.

Pictured above is the Tri-Fold Card opened up and where I adhered the Mushroom.

This was just an amazing card to make.  I'm not sure that I will ever part with this Card!
😊😊😊

Wishing you all a warm and sunny day and a fun and safe Holiday week!!!

Blessings!

Lynn

PLEASE GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!

I recently discovered that people are using my cards and/or projects, duplicating them and entering them into challenges, using them for their own card classes and (using them on their blogs as their own creations) - Please give credit where credit is due.  My cards and projects are my own creations and are not to be used in challenges, blog hops, card classes or sold at craft shows; etc., for profit.  I don't mind if you duplicate my creativity to pass on to family members or friends as gifts or Occasions cards; but,  PLEASE be considerate of others creativity!  Thank you!

  1. Your card is simply DARLING my friend.
And your critter pics are TOO STINKIN' CUTE.
We often times see the rabbits laying in the shade like this when we take our golf cart ride at night. The dirt is cool and the shade helps with the 105 degree temps.
    Thanks for sharing!!!!
