Stampin' Up Swirly Bird Scribbles Playful Palette Gift Box Card Set

Another day of high 80's and oh-so-muggy with a slight chance of thunderstorms.  We had one go by already this morning.  Mostly thunder and dark clouds; but, only a few drops of rain so far.

I got to go fishing this weekend in Wixom Lake which is about 10-15 minutes West of us.  Randy and I each caught a 16" Bass and some nice sized Blue Gills.  It was a gorgeous, sunny, hot weekend and very relaxing!  I really, really needed a day out!

My share today is a gift card box with six 3" x 3" cards that I made using Stampin' Up's Swirly Bird Stamp Set, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies and Playful Palette Designer Series Paper.

Let's take a look:

This was such a fun project to make!

I LOVE the new Stampin' Up Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack.  So colorful and so fun to mix and match the DSP up with some of the new 2016-2018 In-Colors.

The new Swirly Bird Stamp Set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies have become quite a FAVE of mine.

The box bottom is SU Very Vanilla Cardstock cut at 7-1/2" x 7-1/2" and scored at 2" on all 4 sides.  Cut your flaps up to the 2" scoreline, add Tear & Tape and fold up your corners.  Easy Peasy!

The box lid is SU Blushing Bride Cardstock cut at 5-5/8" x 5-5/8" and scored at 1" on all four sides.

I went around the edges with a SU Border Punch (Retired) but you could use any border punch.

Again, Cut your flaps up to the 1" scoreline, angle the flap as shown in the above picture, add Tear & Tape and fold up your corners.  Easy Peasy!

Using a piece of the Playful Palette DSP cut at 3-1/4" x 3-1/4", I rounded the corners and adhered it to the top of the box lid using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I ran a line of SU Fast Fuse through the center inside of the lid and placed a long length of SU's new 3/8" Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon over the adhesive.  Make sure the ends are long enough to tie in a bow on the top of the box lid.

There's a video out there on how to make the box; but, I've forgotten who it was.  It's just a simple 3" x 3" card box that you could do a search for or use the measurements that I provided.

The box is big enough to hold six 3" x 3" cards and envelopes.

My card base is SU Very Vanilla Cardstock cut at 3" x 6" and scored and folded at 3".

I die cut 7 different pieces of SU's new Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack using SU's new Layering Squares Framelits Dies.  There are 19 dies that are Scalloped and Square shaped.  As you can see, I used the Scalloped Shaped Square on my card fronts that measured 2-3/4" x 2-3/4".

Above is a close up of the front on my card so you can see my layering.  I punched six different pieces of Botanicals Designer Series Vellum (Retired) using my SU 2-1/2" Circle Punch.  These were adhered to my card fronts with a Stampin' Dimensional.

I die cut seven different color Swirly Scribbles (6 smaller for the cards and one larger for the box lid) and adhered them over the vellum using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue in the centers only.

Using SU's new Swirly Bird Stamp Set, I stamped 7 birds on Very Vanilla Cardstock with SU Soft Suede Ink.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them randomly on the Swirly Scribbles using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I looped SU's new Black Metallic Thread around my finger to make 3 loops and adhered them under the birds using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I pulled some long threads from SU's 1-1/4" White Jute Ribbon, (Retired - SU came out with the 5/8" Burlap Ribbon that you could use), tied them into double bows and adhered them under the birds using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

Fabulous, fabulous color!!!

These were so fun to make!  I had a little assembly line going!  =)

I added the smallest SU Basic Jewel Pearl to the bird on the box lid for an eye.

That's all I have for today.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
