Stampin' Up Punch Art Leprechaun - Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

____________________________________________________________________
From March 2016

We've gotten use to some nicer, warmer weather; but, we are going to cool back down today through next Tuesday.  The high for Saturday is only 39.  If I see that groundhog, I'm going to scold him!

Today I have a sweet, little, Stampin' Up Punch Art Leprechaun to share with you!  Let's take a look:

Isn't he just the cutest!  His hat and face remind me of one of the old 'keystone cops'.

It took me a couple days to design him.  It was hard to put on paper what was in my head and how I wanted him to turn out.

And, OMGOSH...I used Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Circle Stackables Dies to make my card base for the Leprechaun's hair and the Leprechaun's face.  Stampin' Up is my first Love and Lawn Fawn runs an extremely close second.  SU has not come out with the smaller scalloped circles so I used my Lawn Fawn Die's.

For my card base, I cut a piece of SU Tangelo Twist that measures 7" x 7".  I scored and folded it at 3-1/2".  I laid the piece on my Big Shot Cutting Pad and put the LF Scalloped Circle Die just above the top of the folded edge so that the cardstock remained in one piece while cutting out the scalloped circle. (See picture below where the card is opened up)

I ran just the top part of the card base through my Big Shot using SU's Spring Flowers Embossing Folder.  As an afterthought, I should have ran the mustache and eyebrows through the Big Shot too.  Oh well...next time!  My brain was too focused on how to complete this adorable, little guy!!!

I die-cut a piece of SU Pink Pirouette for the Leprechaun's face using LF's Scalloped Circle Stackable Die and adhered it to my card base using Mono-Multi Purpose Glue.

I die-cut a mustache using SU's Mustache Die (Retired) from Tangelo Twist Cardstock.

I punched two small circles; one for the nose (SU's 1/2" Circle Punch) and a smaller one for the mouth (SU's Owl Builder Punch), from SU's Pink Pirouette Cardstock and sponged the edges with SU Blushing Bride Ink.

For the white portion of the eye's, I punched two balloons using the balloon punch in SU's Party Punch Pack from SU's Whisper White Cardstock.

For the black portion of the eye's, I punched two circles using SU's Owl Builder Punch from SU's Basic Black Cardstock.

I adhered all pieces to the back of the mustache and then to the Leprechaun's face using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.  I left the ends of the mustache free and gave the tips a little curl.

For the Leprechaun's Hat, I die-cut a circle using SU's Circles Collection Framelits Dies (5th from center) from SU's Garden Green Cardstock.

I die-cut the 1/2" x 3", round on one end and pointed on the other end, stake twice (once through the Big Shot as normal then putting it back in the die and running it through again so that both ends are round, from SU's Handpicked Framelits Dies for the brim of the Leprechaun's hat.

I trimmed out a strip of SU's Basic Black Cardstock, 3/8" x 2", using my SU Stampin' Trimmer for the band on the Leprechaun's hat.

I also trimmed out a small square from SU's Daffodil Delight Cardstock, 3/4" x 3/4".  And then I hand cut a small square from the center.

Using SU's Bird Builder Punch, I punched two wings from SU's Tangelo Twist Cardstock.

I adhered the word window punched piece to the front of the Basic Black strip and the Garden Green circle to the back of the strip using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

For the Leprechaun's eyebrow's, I adhered the two Tangelo Twist wings to the word window piece using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I adhered the Daffodil Delight square to the center of the black strip on the hat for a buckle and brushed Wink of Stella on it to make it shine.

I then adhered the whole piece to the top of the Leprechaun's head using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

Using SU's Bird Builder Punch, I punched the stem from the leaf stem from SU's Garden Green Cardstock.

I punched 4 hearts from SU's Garden Green Designer Series Paper using SU's Small Heart Punch (Retired).

I punched a small flower from SU's Daffodil Delight Cardstock using the flower punch from SU's Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (Retired).

I adhered the leaf stem, the 4 hearts and the flower to the top center of the hat (to make a shamrock flower) using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I added a small SU Basic Jewel Pearl to the center of the flower.

I drew two small lines in the Leprechaun's eye's using SU's Signo White Gel Pen.

Using SU's Bow Builder Punch, I made a bow from SU's Garden Green Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the Leprechaun using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

In the picture above, this is how the card looks opened up.  I forgot to take the picture before I signed it.  This card is going to my Great Niece in NY.  See, I'm not just a Good Aunt; I'm a Great Aunt!  =)  And, there is another card in there for Joey too!

And, above is a side shot of the card standing up.

I am so happy with the way he turned out!!!  He makes me smile every time I look at him!!!

That's all I have for today!  Don't drink too much green beer and hope you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

Thanks for stopping by!
