Stampin' Up Flourish Thinlits Shaker Card

Well, we are back to a cool down for today with the high only into the low 70's.  We did get some rain in the wee hours of the morning; but, it's still not enough.  There are a few burn/fire restrictions throughout Michigan right now.

We had a HUGE, and I mean HUGE, Snapper Turtle coming out of our pond and going down into the river yesterday afternoon.  I've not seen one as BIG as he was.  I hurried up and grabbed my camera, flew out the kitchen door and only got a few feet down the hill when it spotted me.  Drats!  And, Holy Buckets of AWE, did that turtle book back into the pond.  I didn't know that they could move that fast!  And, I mean fast!  I couldn't believe it!

Today's share is a Birthday card that I made for my Good Friend, Stampin' Buddy and Fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Kadie.  My Brother-In-Law's Birthday is on the 4th of July also.  Happy Birthday and Happy 4th of July Kadie and Vern.  Hope it's the best ever!!!

I used all new Stampin' Up products on my card except the sequins.  Let's take a look:

Aren't those flourishes just Gorgeous!!!

My card base is Stampin' Up PeekABoo Peach Cardstock cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored and folded at 5-1/2".

My card front panel is 4" x 5-1/4".

Using SU's new Layering Squares Framelits Dies, I die cut 3 windows in my card front panel.  Mental note:  Purchase new cutting plates! (you can see some of my previous die cut tracts around my windows) Sorry!

I trimmed out a piece of SU's new Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate (LOVE) and adhered it behind the windows using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I kind of experimented with the lighting when taking my pictures yesterday.  I thought if I had a little less light that I could minimize the glare in the acetate.  I think it just made the cardstock look darker.  I think I like it better with more light.

Then, I adhered SU's new Foam Strips (LOVE) around each square.  I'm so lovin' these foam strips as they make it sooooo easy to make shaker cards.  I also put some of the foam strips on the outer edges of my card front panel.  I used the foam strips as they have a little more height to them than the Stampin' Dimensionals.

I made 3 small piles of SU's Metallic Sequins on my card base and adhered my card front panel over the piles of sequins and onto my card base.

I die cut the flourishes from Stampin' Up's Night of Navy Cardstock using the new Flourish Thinlits Dies.  I did trim off a small portion from the flourish on the left so it wouldn't cover up my window's.

The flourish on the right is two of the small flourishes butted up to the small flower.

I stamped Happy Birthday on the inside of the card using SU's new Stylized Birthday Stamp.  LOVE, LOVE and LOVE the font!  Makes for such a bold and pretty sentiment.

I adhered one of SU's new Metallic Enamel Shapes (Gold) to the center of the flower.

Love how my card turned out and hope Kadie enjoys it too!  Again, Happy Birthday GirlFriend!!!  Happy Birthday Vern!!!

I will be on Stay-cation (vacation at home) next week so I won't be posting to my blog next week unless I get some time when we are not doing anything!

Have a fun and safe 4th of July Holiday weekend!

That's all I have for today.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I recently discovered that people are using my cards and/or projects, duplicating them and entering them into challenges and using them for their own card classes.  My cards and projects are my own creations and are not to be used in challenges, blog hops, card classes or sold at craft shows; etc., for profit.  I don't mind if you duplicate my creativity to pass on to family members or friends as gifts or Occasions cards; but,  PLEASE be considerate of others creativity!  Thank you!

If you are interested in purchasing Stampin' Up products, you can order from me on-line at www.stampinup.com and please choose me, Lynn Gauthier, as your Demonstrator.
