Stampin' Up Gift Bag from You're So Lovely Card Base

We avoided the nasty storms yesterday.  A small town about 20 miles N of us received a lot of wind, hail and tree damage.  We are getting a break from the high heat and humidity.  The sun is full on and looks to be a nice day to weed a flower garden!

I had some leftover card bases from Stampin' Up's You're So Lovely Project Kit and hadn't shared how to make the Gift Bag with one of the card bases.  Actually, any card base that measures 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" will work.

Let's take a look:

From a simple 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4" pre-printed card base and some Stampin' Up product.....

To this..........  I LOVE the new 2016-2018 Stampin' Up In-Colors!!!  And, it's such a great year to see all the Gold, Silver, Copper; any metallic's, trending.

Here is the template that Stampin' Up shared with us to make these little goodies!

I made a belly band for my gift bag with SU's new Emerald Envy cardstock.

Using SU's Triple Banner Punch made for perfect and quick banners.  I used Emerald Envy for the large banner, Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper for the middle banner and Flirty Flamingo for the smallest banner.

I adhered 2 of the gold embellishments that came in the project kit to each side of my banner.  SU came out with some awesome new Enamel Shapes that would work perfectly too!  They come in Metallic, Brights, Regals, Subtles and the new In-Colors.  WaHooo!!!

The belly band is 3/4" wide and long enough to go around the Gift Bag to adhere it together in the back.  When I wrapped the belly band around the Gift Bag, I made sure to 'pinch in' for the gussets on the sides of the bag.

My layering on the banners consist of a 2-1/2" Circle of Botanicals Designer Vellum (Retired), a 2-3/8" Scalloped Circle of Emerald Envy Cardstock, a 1-3/4" Scalloped Circle of Affectionately Yours DSP, a Butterfly Thinlit Die die cut, Gold Metallic Thread, a 3/8" Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon bow and a fussy cut flower from SU's Love & Affection Stamp Set.

I sponged a little Flirty Flamingo Ink in the center of my butterfly and added some new Black Solid Bakers Twine for the body and antennae.

I stamped my flower in Flirty Flaming Ink for the outline and Chocolate Chip Ink for the center.  I put some Crystal Effects in the center and brushed some clear Wink of Stella around the center and in the lines of the petals.

That was for sure a fun project!  Thank you Stampin' Up!!!

I apologize in advance if my blog post went out earlier this morning.  Some little critter was all wound up and added a few keystrokes of her own which caused my blog post to publish early and I only had the title wrote.  Natasha can be such a goof!!!  She loves sitting in my lap while I type.  She chases my fingers across the keyboard.

And, of course, we can't forget Natasha's brother Boris!  He slept through all her antics!

So, Boris and Natasha both say HI.....

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I recently discovered that people are using my cards and/or projects, duplicating them and entering them into challenges and using them for their own card classes.  My cards and projects are my own creations and are not to be used in challenges, blog hops, card classes or sold at craft shows; etc., for profit.  I don't mind if you duplicate my creativity to pass on to family members or friends as gifts or Occasions cards; but,  PLEASE be considerate of others creativity!  Thank you!
