Stampin' Up Sneak Peek 2016-2017 Catalog Love & Affection Pop of Paradise Cards, Tags, Card Box II

And another 80 plus degree day out.  A few clouds here and there and maybe a pop up shower and all is well here in Michigan.

I'll be sharing some really cool cards and tags that I designed this week and a card box that I found a video for on Friday!  I so LOVE how my project came together and the colors are just fabulous!

Let's take a look at my second card:

And, yes!  I was the "Fussy Cutting Queen" again!

Isn't this flamingo just too Stinkin' cute!  I'm in LOVE with him!!!  He's from Stampin' Up's new Pop of Paradise Stamp Set along with the palm frond, BIG leaf and pineapple.  I was going for the flamingo stranded on a little island in the middle of an ocean and I think I achieved the look I was going for.

My card base is SU Whisper White Cardstock cut at  4-1/4" x 11" and scored and folded at 5-1/2".

For the island, I inked up the top of Stampin' Up's Watercolor Wash Background Stamp (so glad it is returning in the new catalog) in SU's Chocolate Chip Ink and stamped it on the bottom of my card base.

Using just my index finger, I tapped on some SU Pool Party Ink in the open spaces of the Chocolate Chip Ink.  I think these two colors together just look so striking.

For the palm tree trunk, I used a leftover piece in Chocolate Chip Cardstock from die cutting the long die from SU's new Swirly Scribble Thinlits Dies available to order June 1st.

I stamped two of the BIG leaves in Cucumber Crush Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, fussy cut them out and adhered them together and to the palm tree trunk using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I stamped the small flower from SU's new Love & Affection Stamp Set in Flirty Flamingo Ink and the flower center in Chocolate Chip Ink.  I colored in the center of the flower using SU's Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker.   I fussy cut it out, went around the petals with my Petal Roller Tool to give them some dimension and adhered it in between the two BIG leaves on the tree trunk using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I added some Crystal Effects and when it was dry, I went around the center with my Clear Wink of Stella Brush to give it a glittery shine.

For the pineapple, I used the ink to stamp technique and colored the pineapple using Stampin' Write Markers in Crushed Curry and Cucumber Crush.  I huffed on the stamp and stamped it on SU's Whisper White Cardstock, fussy cut it out and adhered the pineapple to the base of the palm tree trunk using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I stamped the flamingo in Flirty Flamingo Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, fussy cut him out and adhered him to my card base using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I stamped the palm tree frond in Cucumber Crush Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, fussy cut it out and adhered it to my card using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

I stamped the hello sentiment in Flirty Flamingo Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and punched it out using SU's 1-1/4" Circle Punch.  I punched another circle from Very Vanilla Cardstock and punched it out using SU's 1-3/8" Circle Punch. I adhered the two circles together and to the palm tree frond using Mono Multi-Purpose Glue.

.

For the inside of my card, I used SU's Floral Frames Dies (may still be available on the SU Retiring List) and die cut the largest flower from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and adhered it to the inside of my card along with another BIG leaf.

I randomly adhered 3 Basic Jewel Rhinestones to my card.

I also stamped the larger flowers on my envelopes.

Oh My Gosh...I had so much fun creating this project!  That flamingo is just too cool and too fun to work with!  Sorry, no Lynn Sneak Peek today; maybe tomorrow!  =)

That's all I have for today.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Please come back the rest of this week to see the rest of my project!

Have a great day!
