November 11, 2021 - RE-POST
Since I will be viewing Stampin' Up!'s Virtual OnStage tomorrow, I thought I would take a break from the One Gift Card and One Card Base Plus More blog posts and share with you another of my most popular blog posts. I've received over a 1200 visits to my Pansy Petals blog post. Enjoy!!! Make it a FUN day!!! 😊😊😊

My share for today is a Sneak Peek Happy Birthday Card that I designed using Stampin' Up!'s new Pansy Patch Stamp Set, Pansy Dies and Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. Let's take a look:
Yup!!! Stampin' Up!'s Pansy Petals Suite is going to be one of the best seller's in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I'm thrilled, very impressed and honored to be able to work with Stampin' Up!'s new Pansy Petals Suite.
My Card Base is Calypso Coral Cardstock.
My First Card Front Panel is the Striped pattern in the new Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper cut to measure 2-3/4 x 5" and adhered to my Card Base with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
Using the new Scalloped Contours Dies (going to be another one of my FAVE'S), I die cut out the Scalloped Dotted Die from Whisper White Cardstock.
Using the new Pansy Patch Stamp Set, I stamped 'Happy Birthday' in Evening Evergreen Ink (new In Color - LOVE) onto the bottom left corner of the Whisper White Panel and adhered it to my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above.
Now, just how pretty are these Pansy's and Leaves. Such a striking display of color and even more gorgeous in person!!!
As I'm not that familiar with the name of the Pansy parts, I looked it up on the internet:
Pansy flowers have five petals. There are two overlapping, side-by-side upper petals. The lower half of the flower consists of three petals -- a large center spurred petal and two side petals. Each petal is covered with tiny hairs that get longer toward the center of the flower.
So, for me to start constructing my own Pansy, I followed the Pansy shown in the new catalog so I could familiarize myself with the dies and the parts of the Pansy. I will try to do my best to explain:
I die cut out the two overlapping, side-by-side Upper Petals from Pale Papaya Cardstock (new In Color, yay) and the Upper Tips of the two Petals from Calypso Coral Cardstock. Using a Sponge Dauber and Calypso Coral Ink, I lightly sponged some Calypso Coral ink on the centers of the two Petals. I then adhered the Upper Tips to the Upper Petals.
I die cut out the Lower Half of the Pansy (three Petals in one Die) from Whisper White Cardstock and the Tips of the three Petals from Pale Papaya Cardstock. Again, using my Sponge Dauber, I lightly sponged some Bumblebee Ink on the centers of the three Petals. I then adhered the Tips to the Three Lower Half Petals.
I adhered the Two Upper Petal die cuts together by overlapping each other and then I adhered them to the Three Bottom Petal die cut with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I die cut out the Stamen from Calypso Coral Cardstock and the Pistil Die (3 Pistils) from Bumblebee Cardstock. I adhered the Calypso Coral Stamen to the Petals as shown in the picture above. I adhered the three Bumblebee Pistil Die cuts together and to the Center of the Pansy with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I die cut out the Budding Pansy Petals from Whisper White Cardstock and Pale Papaya Cardstock. I sponged Bumblebee Ink on the Whisper White Petal. I adhered the Pale Papaya Petal to the Whisper White Petal with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I die cut out the Sepal (the part that attaches to the Flower) from Evening Evergreen Cardstock and the Sepal/Pedicel (Stem) from Soft Succulent Cardstock (another new In Color). I adhered the Evening Evergreen Sepal to the Sepal on the Soft Succulent Pedicel with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above.
I adhered the Stem to the Front of the Petals with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I die cut out the Small and Large Solid Leaves from Soft Succulent Cardstock and the Small and Large Leaf Veins from Evening Evergreen Cardstock. I adhered them together with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I assembled my Pansy as shown in the picture above.
I adhered my Large Pansy to my Card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered my Budding Pansy to my Card with Stampin' Dimensionals and Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
Phew...I hope I did this right!!! That was a lot of work writing this post!!!
