Stampin' Up Bear Hugs In the Meadow Valentine's Day Card

I guess the weather man finally got it right.  Scattered snow showers ... yup!  We got a dusting of snow last night and again this morning.  We've been dodging so many of the storms that have come across our state and I was hoping we'd miss out on some of these too ... nope.  Our driveway just got the snow and ice melted off so here we go again!  I can't wait for my Husband to retire and, if we can afford it, vacation in Arizona for 2-3 months in the Winter.  That would be so awesome!!!

Today, I'd like to share a Valentine's Day card for my Hubby that I made using Stampin' Up's Bear Hugs and In the Meadow Stamp Sets and Bear Hugs and Squares Collection Framelits die's.

Here we go:

This guy has got to be my FAVE Stampin' Up 'critter' stamp for now!  I'm sure that will change soon...(especially for Easter ... to come)!!!

My card base is SU's Rose Red Card Stock.

I cut a piece of SU's Crumb Card Stock for my front panel and ran it through the Big Shot using SU's Brick Wall Embossing Folder.

My flash went off in the picture above, odd how it changes the color of the Crumb Cake Card Stock.

I stamped my bear in SU's Crumb Cake Ink on SU's Crumb Cake Card Stock and die-cut him out using SU's Bear Hugs Framelits Die's.  I laid the die-cut bear on a piece of scrap paper and took my SU Crumb Cake Ink Pad and slid it across the bear using straight up and down swipes until the bear was covered with ink to my liking.

Using the third square die from center of SU's Square Collection Framelits Die's, I die cut a square in my card front panel for a window.  I then die-cut the window frame using the third and fifth square die's from center out of SU's Crumb Cake Card Stock.  I adhered the window frame to the front panel, tucked the bear die-cut behind the window and then the whole card front panel to my card base using Stampin' Dimensionals on everything.

I stamped the heart in SU's Rose Red Ink on Rose Red Card Stock and die-cut the heart out using SU's Bear Hugs Framelits Die's.

I put a thin line of Mono Multi-Purpose Glue across the back top part of the heart and laid a scrap piece of SU's Old Olive Baker's Twine on top of the glue line.  Once it was dried, I adhered the ends of the Baker's Twine to the paws on the bear.

I used the Marker-to-Stamp technique to color the flower stamp from SU's In the Meadow Stamp Set.  I used SU's Stampin' Write Markers in Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow then fussy cut them out and pieced them all together along the bottom of the card front panel.  I love to color stamps and fussy cut.  It's just so relaxing and I needed some relaxing moments!!!

I love how this card all came together!  The flowers sure gave me a boost with it snowing, AGAIN, outside!

That's all I have for today!  Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I recently discovered that people are using my cards and/or projects, duplicating them and entering them into challenges.  My cards and projects are my own creations and are not to be used in challenges or sold at craft shows; etc., for profit.  I don't mind if you duplicate my creativity to pass on to family members or friends as gifts or Occasions cards; but,  Please be considerate of others creativity!  Thank you!
