Well, I guess Winter is going to hang on and not let Spring shine yet! The winds are gusting between 15 and 25 mph and the high temperature for today is in the low 30's. Brr, Brr and Brrrrrrr!
And, this is what we woke up to this morning. It started out with rain then sleet and then snow and thunder!
We worked in the yard last week as it was so nice. We had black dirt brought in where the old well pump house was removed, leveled the ground, planted grass and laid down some fertilizer. I even brought out our two chairs. So disappointing!!! And, we are expecting 2-5" more of snow this coming Friday. Crazy Michigan weather anyhow!!!
My share for today is a Birthday Card for my Great Nephew to go along with the Party Horns that I made and shared on my blog yesterday. Let's take a look at Joey's Birthday Card:
My Card Base is Bermuda Bay Cardstock cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored and folded at 5-1/2" for a top folding Card.
My Card Front Panel is the Confetti pattern from Stampin' Up's Picture Perfect Designers Series Paper cut to measure 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and adhered it to my Card Base with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I fussy cut out one of the Party Hats from the Party Hat pattern in SU's Picture Perfect DSP and adhered it to my Card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Using SU's Party Hat Birthday Stamp Set, I stamped my Sentiment onto Shimmery White Cardstock with Bermuda Bay Ink and punched it out with SU's Duet Banner Punch. I sponged Bermuda Bay Ink around the edges of the Banner and adhered it to the bottom of the Party Hat with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
For the inside of my Card:
Using SU's Party Hat Builder Framelits Dies, I die cut out 2 of the larger Tassel die; one from Bermuda Bay Cardstock and one from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock. I adhered the 2 together and to the top of the Party Hat with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above. I then die cut out the smaller Tassel die from Shimmery White Cardstock and adhered it on top of the larger Tassel.
I also die cut out the Party Hat Die from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and 2 of the Hat Trim die; one from Bermuda Bay Cardstock and one from Shimmery White Cardstock. I adhered the Trims to the bottom of the Party Hat and the Hat to the inside of my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above.
Since I made Party Horns for Joey for his Birthday and posted them on my blog yesterday.......
......I chose the Party Horn pattern from SU's Picture Perfect DSP and fussy cut one of the Party Horns out.
Using SU's Party Hat Birthday, I stamped Happy Birthday on the handle of the Party Horn in Bermuda Bay Ink and adhered the Party Horn over the top of the Party Hat with Mono Multi Purpose Glue as shown in the picture above.
The last thing I did was to adhere some of SU's Gold Glitter Flakes around the edges of my Banner on my Party Hat.
SU's Picture Perfect DSP is really Picture Perfect. Doesn't it look like the confetti is actually sitting on top of the paper and the top of the Hat actually looks 3D (curved) and the paper trim and tassel looks like they are really sticking out. Truly amazing paper and kudoo's to the SU Designer!!!

recently discovered that people are using my cards and/or projects,
duplicating them and entering them into challenges, using them for their
own card classes and (using them on their blogs as their own creations) -
Please give credit where credit is due. My cards and
projects are my own creations and are not to be used in challenges, blog
hops, card classes or
sold at craft shows; etc., for profit. I don't mind if you duplicate my
creativity to pass on to family members or friends as gifts or Occasions
cards; but, PLEASE be considerate of others creativity! Thank you!
Well, it was back to the Dr. again yesterday. Underneath my right eye is all swollen up. Dr. doesn't think it's infection from the tooth extraction; but, that I got bit by some kind of bug. I wonder if these infection's will ever end. Needless to say, I'm back on antibiotics again. And, if it's not better by Thursday, I have to go back to the Dr. Gee Whiz!!! Enough is enough!!!
We are right on the edge of a Winter Storm Advisory today. The rain/sleet/snow system is moving just North of us and I hope it stays there!!! No more of the "S" word, please, until this coming Winter!
I was at the Dr's office so long yesterday that I didn't get my blog posted. I think it is worth the wait though!!!
So, my share for today is some colorful and fun Party Horns that I made using Stampin' Up's Picture Perfect Designer Series Paper and some coordinating Cardstocks. Let's take a look:
Aren't these just too cute! So brilliant with color and fun!!!
And, so easy to make! Let's take a look at how I made them!
I chose some of SU's Test Tubes (Retired; but, you can use any type of plastic tube or even candy that comes in long rolls and just adjust my measurements accordingly) and wrapped a 2-1/2" x 4-1/8" panel of SU's Picture Perfect Designer Series Paper around the tube or rolled candy and adhere it with Mono Multi Purpose Glue down the length of the panel on the edge.
Cut 2 panels from coordinating Cardstock at 1-1/2" x 5".
I used my Bone Folder to give the panels a little curl and then fringed one edge with my SU Fringe Scissors (Retired; but, you can hand snip them easily).
I used my Bone Folder again to curl up all the Fringe.
I adhered my first Fringe Panel to the top of the DSP, just under the cork, with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I adhered my second Fringe Panel about an 1/8" down from the top of my first Fringe Panel.
For the Blower part of my Party Horns, I took another panel of the Picture Perfect DSP cut at 1-1/2" x 6" and scored it down the center lengthwise at 3/4".
I folded the panel at the score line (in Half) and adhered it together with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I used my Bone Folder to curl the panel and then wrapped it around an ink pen or pencil to really give it a good curl.
I folded up the end of the Blower about 3/8" (as shown in the picture above) and adhered the Blower to the top of the Cork on the Test Tube (or to the end of a roll of candy) with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
It really doesn't take much to make these Party Horns.
If you don't get any adhesive on the Test Tube or Cork or Rolled Candy, you should be able to remove the Test Tube or Rolled Candy very easily from the rolled and adhered DSP.

Pictured above is a GIANT Party Horn that I made for my Great Nephew's Birthday!
And, I made the GIANT Party Horn using this Tube of Sour Candies that I got at our local dollar store.
Pictured above is a Party Horn that I made using one of SU's Coordinating Cardstock Colors called Berry Burst.
For this one, I used SU's Peekaboo Peach Cardstock for my Coordinating color.
And, this one I used Bermuda Bay Cardstock.
And, this one is Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock.
I still have a couple more Party Horns in progress where I used Pool Party Cardstock. The other Coordinating Colors for the Picture Perfect Designer Series Paper are Basic Black and Whisper White.
And, yes!!! These are very, very addicting and fun and easy to make!!!
