I made the RED Cup from one of our Local Coffee Shops and designed it my own way. I saw this on the internet last year and I feel awful that I can't remember where. I don't have my original instructions as I borrowed them to my Niece, Amy, last year at Christmas and can't find them now, so, if you know who designed the Cup portion, please let me know. Amy held a class on making the Coffee Cup Gift Card Holders and I hope everyone enjoyed them and that the Gift Card Holders helped them out with their Christmas List. =)
I used the following Stampin' Up products to make the cup and to embellish it; Cookie Cutter Christmas, Snow Place and Holly Jolly Layers Stamp Sets, Snow Friends, Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles Framelits Dies and Cookie Cutter Builder and Note Tag Punch.
Let's take a look:
I trimmed out the following pieces:
Real Red Cardstock - 3-1/2" x 11 and scored at 5-1/2"
Whistper White Cardstock - 1-1/2" x 5-1/2"
Corrugated or Crumbcake Cardstock - 1-3/4" x 7-1/2" (Belly Band)
For the Cup:
Take your Real Red Card (Stock 3-1/2" x 11" scored at 5-1/2") with the fold at the top and make 1/4" tick mark inward from both bottom corners. Now trim from top corners at the fold all the way down to your tick mark through both thicknesses. So, you are removing a skinny angled portion 1/4" from the bottom of each corner up to both top corners. The bottom of your cup should measure 3" across the bottom and the top at the fold should measure 3-1/2". Hope that makes sense. You are just angling the edges of the cup.
I used my Project Life Corner Rounder to round each bottom corner.
For the Lid:
Take your 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" Whisper White piece and punch both ends with SU's Note Tag Punch (Retired - you can always use a similar punch. Now score this piece right down the center lengthwise and at each notch on both sides of the center line as shown in the picture above.
Belly Band:
Take your 1-3/4" x 7-1/2" Corrugated or Crumbcake piece and wrap it around the cup. Adhere in the back with Tear & Tape. It doesn't match up evenly so I trimmed off some of the top of one end to meet up with the top of the other end. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of this.
I used SU's Holly Jolly Layers Stamp Set and stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock in Real Red Ink and then again with Garden with Garden Green Ink.
I used SU's Layering Circles to die cut my stamped Circles. The Circles were adhered to the Belly Band with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Using my 1/8" Handheld Punch, I punched some Circles from Real Red Cardstock and adhered them to the stamped Holly with Mono Multi Purpose Glue.
I used SU's Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and stamped the Santa in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and punched him out using SU's Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.
I water colored Santa using Aqua Painter and Read Red, Garden Green, Basic Black, Delightful Dijon and Blushing Bride.
I brushed some Wink onto the Hat Brim and Tassel, Beard and Mustache and the fur on Santa's suit.
I die cut out a piece of Garden Green Cardstock with SU's Stitched Shapes and adhered it to the inside of my Cup.
I added a Gift Card to our local coffee shop above Santa with some Glue Dots.
Here I punched out the Reindeer and watercolored him with Soft Suede and Crumbcake Inks.
I stamped the Reindeer's nose in Read Red Ink and adhered him to the Reindeer with a small piece of Stampin' Dimensional.
I punched out the bow from Garden Green Cardstock.
I won't go into details on the Snow Friends and Snow Place products as you have seen me use them a lot.
The same with Mrs. SnowLady. You've seen me make these a lot too!
These are the ones that I made last year. We used Among the Branches Stamp Set to stamp our circles and punched them out with SUs 2" Circle Punch.
And then we used SU's 2-3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch from Whisper White Cardstock.
Both Circles were adhered to the Belly Band with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Here are some more pictures...
