Stampin' Up Flowering Fields Botanicals Water Color Card Set I
I decided to post some of my most popular designs this week since I'm on vacation:
This blog post has 729 blog views; totally amazing!!! Thank you all for visiting my blog!!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm still a little under the weather; but, it was a nice, fun and relaxing weekend for me. The cold and sinus issues just keep hanging on and I hope they will go away completely soon!!!
I'm starting this week off sharing with you a series of 6 water color cards that I made using the new Stampin' Up Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set called Flowering Fields and the new 2016 Occasions Catalog Botanical Builders Framelits Dies and Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. Let's take a look at my first card:
The picture just does not do this card justice.
I started out by making my A2 card bases with SU's Basic Black Card Stock and I rounded each corner.
For the tag, I cut a piece of SU's Whisper White Card Stock at 4 1/4" x 2" and punched one end using SU's Ornate Tag Topper Punch.
The panel behind the tag is SU's Wisteria Wonder Card Stock cut at 4 1/4" x 2 1/4" and I rounded each corner.
I don't know why there is this blurry spot in the flower on the right. I'm positive it's not another greasy/oily print/accident! =) So, I don't know what it is unless it's from the camera itself???
Anyways, I stamped the flowers and butterfly from SU's new Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Flowering Fields in SU's Basic Black Archival Ink. I then used my Aqua Painter and SU's Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive and Crushed Curry Inks to water color the images. They are awful small images to water color; but, I think I did pretty good.
I layered two different SU Designer Series Washi Tapes (Retired) on the bottom of my tag.
Using SU's Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding Ribbon, I thread it through the holes in the top of the tag and tied it in a knot. I then took some SU Basic Black Baker's Twine and tied a bow around the Ribbon.
I adhered the tag to the Wisteria Wonder panel and then to the card base all using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I die-cut some different leaves and flowers from the new SU Botanical Builder Framelits Dies and Rose Gardens Thinlits Dies using SU's Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Wisteria Wonder Card Stock. I stamped two of the leaves using SU's coordinating stamp set called Botanical Blooms.
The sentiment was stamped from the new SU 2016 Occasions Catalog stamp set called You're So Lovely.
I added some of the new SU 2016 Occasions Catalog It's Your Party Enamel Dots in Crushed Curry to the flower centers.
For the inside of my card, I cut a piece of SU Whisper White Card Stock at 4 1/2"x 3 1/2". I used a scrap of SU Wisteria Wonder Card Stock which I trimmed to 4 1/2" x 1/2" and adhered it to the left side of the Whisper White piece. I then rounded all 4 corners and adhered it to the inside of my card.
I also added a flower that I die-cut from the Botanical Builders die, a leaf stem from the Rose Garden Thinlit Dies and a 1/4" circle punched with SU's 1/4" Hand Held Hole Punch to the center of the flower.
The sentiment is from SU's Happy Happenings Stamp Set found in SU's 2015-2016 Annual Catalog.
I'll share card 2 with you tomorrow so please stop back!

ReplyDeleteSimply stunning, Lynn! I love how you stamped the sentiment on the leaf and how you finished the inside too! The tag really stands out on the black background!
